What Happens During a Facelift?
Facelift surgery is performed by Dr. Ambro in our private surgery center at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Dr. Ambro will make an incision around the ears and below the chin. The skin is lifted to allow tightening and repositioning of muscle laxity, contouring of excess fat and removal of skin if needed. Alternative Treatments
If you have significant laxity in the lower facial and neck soft tissues, there is no substitute for a facelift. Alternative treatments like Laser Skin Resurfacing, which can reduce wrinkles and tighten skin, may be recommended if you have minor sagging or early signs of aging. In some circumstances, facial fillers and injectables such as Botox® are also alternatives for patients who aren’t ready for surgery.
