Earlobe surgery is a simple procedure performed in the office under local anesthesia to reshape the lower portion of the ear. It typically takes less than an hour and has very minimal downtime. You will also be able to resume your daily routine after surgery.
Common reasons for earlobe surgery include:
- Torn (clefting) due to an earring being pulled through the bottom of the lobe
- Gauged lobes that have been stretched and need to be restored to a normal appearance
- Aging causes the lobes to elongate
About a week after the surgery, we will remove the stitches. For the next few weeks, the ear will heal with little discomfort. If you want to re-pierce your ears, we advise you to wait 4-6 weeks until the ear has fully healed.
